The 6 valleys bear the names of the 6 rivers passing through them, each one with lakes and waterfalls from the mountains, and especially mountain torrents created when the abundant snow from up in the mountains begins to melt.
Beware that the mountain ecosystem is very fragile.
To preserve it, do not swim in the lakes. For your safety, please also follow the signs on the banks of the lakes and rivers, as hydraulic structures and rising water levels can put you in danger. In Oisans, only the Buissonnière lake is suitable for swimming.
