At the hamlet of Les Etages, park in the parking lot at the exit. Signs are available to help you plan your route. Leave the path leading to La Bérarde on the left bank of the Vénéon on your left. Take the right-hand path and climb the glacial lock to the entrance to the Vallon. To return, cross the Vallon des Etages stream (ford it!) and go down the other side to the hamlet of Les Etages.
HIKING IN THE HEART OF THE ECRINS NATIONAL PARK
The Écrins massif is an exceptional area, open to all, with a rare natural, cultural and landscape heritage. To protect these treasures, the heart of the park is marked with blue-white-red painted flags, where regulations must be respected. Please take note of them when planning your hike to preserve this collective asset on the ecrins-parcnational.fr website.
TO SEE ON THE TRAIL :
You can hike to the foot of the moraine to admire the cirque created by the glacier and its summit, "La Pointe du Vallon des Etages". If you turn around, you can see the Vallon du Soreiller and the Aiguille Dibona on the other side of the Vénéon valley. Some summers, a herd of donkeys is present in the Vallon.
