Located in the centre of Saint-Christophe, just a stone's throw from the moving cemetery where the famous mountain guides from La Bérarde and the Vénéon are buried, the Museum is a must-see for all mountain lovers.
About : Museum ” mountaineering Memory”
In this high perched - and, some would say, somewhat remote - village, the museum focuses on the core subject of high-mountains. A 400m² exhibition area located in the heart of the mountains depicts the history of Alpine mountaineering, together with the strong emotions of this sport, synonymous with adventure and liberty.
Explore this high-altitude world via the adventures of the pioneering mountaineers and the early guides, such as Gaspard, the very first person to climb the Meije. Climb up onto these renowned peaks alongside the very first women mountaineers. Lastly, the temporary exhibition takes you on a trip inside the ice.
LABEL : The museum is a member of the "Route des Savoir-Faire de l'Oisans".

Visit and afternoon tea every Thursday during school holidays in July and August.
