Oz-en-Oisans, a family resort
There’s a wide range of mountain sport and leisure activities at this resort, which is nestled 1350 m above ground on former Alpine pastures. It was created in 1988, revitalising the area while also creating a dynamic tourism sector.
The village of Oz-en-Oisans (860 m) is located on the slopes of the Massif des Grandes Rousses, and has maintained its traditional allure, with its hamlets dotted all along the route up to the resort.
Activities
Oz’s ski resort, which is connected to Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine, has a wide range of winter sports on offer, such as downhill skiing, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, Nordic walking and ice-skating, as well as lots of resort events.
The resort in Oz-en-Oisans reaches all the way up to the famous Pic Blanc, where the 3330 m peak (that can be reached in winter or summer), gives you access to quite the view!
In summer, there’s a wonderful range of activities, such as a forest adventure park, world-renowned mountain biking trails, canyoneering, and of course, hikes and walks. Beautiful Alpine pastures dotted with shimmering lakes and spruce forests make for a breathtaking backdrop to your holiday.

In Oz, let’s explore…
Alpe d’Huez grand domaine Ski
Good news, the resort in Oz is in the foothills of the slopes of the incredible Alpe d’Huez Grande Domaine Ski! There are endless pistes, play areas for (big) kids and magnificent scenery for a real breath of fresh air! As a high-altitude ski resort, reaching 3,300 m above ground, Oz resort can definitely brag about its resort which reaches all the way up to Pic Blanc.
Skiing in Oz is steep slopes, Nordic walks and a peaceful, family-friendly and welcoming resort.
Canyoneering: the hotspot in Oisans
One advantage of being in the mountains? Even bathing can be a sport! The canyon in Oz is accessible to all and is great fun to visit with guides who know the area like the back of their hand. They’ll find the right crossing for you. Try this fun and invigorating excursion as a family. You never know, you might learn that you’re a bit of a dab hand at it! When we’re having fun, we don’t realise that we’re also learning!
plateau de l’ALpette and its lakes
This lake plateau, just above Oz-en-Oisans, is a natural balcony over a view that could have been created by Mother Nature herself. It’s a chain of deep blue lakes, nestled in the heart of Alpine prairies, with a scattering of mountain peaks in the background. You might even see a marmot while you’re here!
Whether it’s summer or winter, ascend to the plateau via the gondola lift (there’s one at each end!). From there you can snowshoe or hike, strap in for a bit of Nordic skiing or tobogganing, or maybe just picnic lakeside. Perhaps you would like to try cross-country mountain biking or take on ice or rock climbing. Have we told you about Nordic walking? What about fishing? Does dog-sledging take your fancy?
