Our history
Founded on August 27 1874 by Henri Duhamel (one of those who introduced skiing to France) and Charles Lory (you've all heard of the Brèche and Pic Lory between La Barre des Ecrins and Dôme des Ecrins), Club Alpin Grenoble Isère will soon be 150 years old.

CAFGI and CAFGO have joined forces to celebrate this event in style. Few clubs can boast of being 150 years old and still going strong. Together, the two clubs have more than 4,000 members, and offer a full range of mountain sports (mountaineering, climbing, hiking, canyoning, mountain biking, skiing in all its forms, caving. Trail, Nordic Walking, ...).
