Auris: a (family) friendly resort!

Auris-en-Oisans is an intimate ski resort that is connected to one of the biggest skiing areas in Europe: Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski. Nestled in a south-facing cirque above a beautiful spruce forest, one of the largest in Europe, the view of the Ecrins peaks from Auris is truly breathtaking.

The resort is both peaceful and lively and is especially loved by families for its dedicated children’s activities. Let Auris’ charming hamlets and village atmosphere enchant you.

Activities in Auris

You can enjoy a wide range of mountain activities in Auris’ picturesque surroundings. There are easy hikes and mountain bike routes around the passes in Maronne and Cluy. In winter, the famous Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski (Auris included) turns into a skiers’ playground.

The resort has a wide range of fun activities for all ages, from dog sledding in winter to donkey rides and tubbying in summer. There’s also archery, mini golf, a heated outdoor swimming pool with a view of the Écrins massif, electric scooters, and plenty more.

auris’ nordic area

The Nordic Area in Auris is divided into two sections, each with a wild atmosphere typical of the Oisans region and its high-altitude spirit.

For the Maronne section, you can hike up to the pass (or take the chairlift), from where you can see the entire Plateau de la Rochette. You’ll be tackling nature head first! Whether you’re walking, snowshoeing or Nordic walking, you can enjoy the cross-country skiing loop with a view of the Écrins peaks on one side and the Grandes Rousses and Alpe d’Huez on the other.
On the Forêt de Piegut side, you’ll think you’re in Canada! Snowshoe, husky-sled or just Fat Trott your way around. All the magic of the Alps can be found at Auris!
