Above Puy-le-Bas, the path goes into a traverse, before rising more steeply through mountain pastures to reach a more rocky area and finally the Rocher de la Courbe.

About : Puy le bas > La Courbe – Hiking

La Courbe is a lovely place for a pleasant afternoon walk on the sunny side of the Grandes Rousses. It is also an opportunity to visit the village of Clavans before taking the path back to Puy-le-Bas.

A paved road turns sharply off to the right when crossing through Puy-le-Bas, to the Champ de Bonnefond, where the path is signposted to the right. The water supply point is a nice, cool area. Carry on to a wide hairpin bend, where the path goes off to the right through meadowland, well signposted to La Courbe, passing under the Bec de l'Aigle, where chamois can often be seen. Carry on to a ruined chalet, following the cairns to the path down towards Clavans. If not visiting the village, 50 m below the descent, there is a little-used and slightly overgrown path that comes out onto a wider path coming out of Clavans. This is a shady area. Walk up to the oratory of Le Follet and then carry on through the wood along the Flan de la Clapière back to Puy-le-Bas.
