Safe and sound? And what would you do if a natural disaster were to strike? An interactive show combining theater and science, followed by a conference on flooding in the Romanche valley.
About : Show: safe and sound?
"Sain et Sauf? is an interactive show combining theater and science, imagined by actor Pascal Servet in co-creation with the Pacte social science laboratory at Grenoble-Alpes University.
The actor brings to life the safety instructions set out in the Documents d'Informations sur les Risques Majeurs (information documents on major risks). Under the alcove, he'll take you to the heart of the disaster, and you'll become the main character in the story.
As events unfold, how will you react? What choices will you make? How will you get through the ordeal and come back safe and sound? Through the story of a flood, we learn what factors need to be taken into account when risk is present, so that we don't put ourselves at risk and adopt the right behaviors.
The session will be followed by a lecture on "The history of flooding in the Romanche valley".
Historian Denis Coeur will look back at the major floods that have marked the area, and show us what impact they have had on the development and history of the valley. From the traces of ancient floods to today's landscape, he will give us a different perspective on the valley. The session will close with a discussion on the risk of flooding in the valley, during which local players will be invited to answer questions from the audience. This event is proposed by SYMBHI to promote a culture of risk awareness, with the aim of better protecting residents against flooding in the Romanche watershed.
Recent events, with 3 major floods in the space of a year on the territory, including a major flood of the Vénéon in June 2024, remind us that these valleys are particularly exposed to the risk of flooding... Wouldn't it be a good time to learn good practices in a playful way?
