Where there’s an “eagle’s nest” village, there’s bound to be an extraordinary access road to get there. Digging a road into this almost vertical cliff-face was certainly a crazy challenge.
That’s why going to Villard-Notre-Dame by bicycle is both a physical experience and an epic adventure. You’ll have some amazing views, except when you pass through the low-lighted tunnels (make sure you have a head lamp), before arriving in the charming, peaceful village.
