Nicolas Ponton is a self-taught artist who has been deeply interested in Chinese philosophy for many years. He has chosen clay as his means of expression and considers working with earth as an exchange of energy and a way of soothing his mind by bringing out his emotions.

Description: La Griff' du Chat-Man

His studio is called "Between Heaven and Earth", which perfectly sums up the Zen feeling of his Creations. Inspired by Buddhist and Taoist wisdom, he conjures up a spiritual universe through his Work. Nicolas designs and makes all his creations in his workshop. They are shaped from sandstone, signed, dried and baked at 1250°C. He incorporates coloured glass into his dishes to provide them with aquatic depth.
