Mountain huts are often seen as inaccessible and only for serious hikers… but this is not at all the case! Rather, they are convivial places open to everyone and children are more than welcome!

Nestling in the heart of the mountains, perched on peaks or lost at the “end of the world”, you are sure to love the settings of our mountain huts, which, in addition to an opportunity to recharge your batteries, offer you real postcard scenery. The 24 Oisans mountain huts are just like our region, namely simple but welcoming.

By their very nature, mountain huts tend to be rustic, housed in converted cabins, shelters or shepherds’ huts.

Depending on the time of year, there can be a warden present (enabling you to enjoy the delicious food) or not, if they say they have a “winter refuge”. These can be used when the warden is away, which used to mainly be in the winter, but these days, a mountain hut without a warden in the autumn can be reopened by the warden in March and April to welcome ski mountaineers. In French, the words to look out for are gardé and non gardé. Contact them for more information!

It goes without saying that you should choose your hut according to your hiking experience and physical fitness:
