In this high perched – and, some would say, somewhat remote - village, the museum focuses on the core subject of high-mountains. A 400m² exhibition area located in the heart of the mountains depicts the history of Alpine mountaineering, together with the strong emotions of this sport, synonymous with adventure and liberty.
Explore this high-altitude world via the adventures of the pioneering mountaineers and the early guides, such as Gaspard, the very first person to climb the Meije. Climb up onto these renowned peaks
alongside the very first women mountaineers. Lastly, the temporary exhibition takes you on a trip down the Vénéon River.

The museum is a member of the "Route des Savoir-Faire de l'Oisans".
