Xperience Ski touring initiation WE

The crew of the Mountain Guide Bureau of La Grave offers its knowledge and passion for the mountain. We love skiing off piste and ski touring in this area of La Grave La Meije.

Program :
J1 - We take the ski lift of Emparis plateau 1735m / 2160m from the ski village resort of Le Chazelet then walk towards the summit of Gros Tet mountain; 2613m. This will give us the opportunity to discover the specific equipment for ski touring, walking on undeveloped land, facing the glaciers of La Meije. Skiing donw to le Chazelet on the slopes of mountain pastures by almost 900m to beautiful backcountry skiing. Overnight half board in a mountain hut in one of the hamlets above La Grave.
J2 - We start on the opposite side from the ski lift named Les Plagnes; 1836m / 2106m. A nice walk on a snowy corniced ridge brings us to La Grave Signal mountain; 2446m, where different alpine downhill possibilities will bring us back to the village of Les Hières; 1710m (possibility to ride a little higher depending on your physical condition; at the foot of Goléon Lake).
And after this big nice day, back to Chazelet hamlet by private car.

The program is always subject to change depending on weather, snow conditions and the level of the participants. The Mountain Guide makes the final decision to modify the program due to safety reasons.

Welcome: Technical Leve l: Beginner ski touring, but good skier on ski slopes (red level track). Hikes from the ski lifts to ease the ascent, around 4:00 to walk up to 500m.
