Villard-Reculas - village

STORYTELLING TOUR of Villard-Reculas

Come closer and let us tell you all about the history of Villard-Reculas through stories and anecdotes from the locals themselves… They have shared their memories with Maud, actress and storyteller, who will take you on a tour of the village, a journey back to mountain life in bygone days. There’s nobody quite like Maud to whisk you back in time, for a timeless experience. And what better a village than Villard-Reculas, which has managed to resist the tourism frenzy and remain authentic. So come on this journey with Maud…

Tubing entre amis

The mountains is also about tobogganing and tubing!

How can you convince your children that inflatable rings are not for babies? With a tubing session on the snow of course! Either alone on a big inflatable ring, whizzing down the slope to beat dad’s record, or together for a ‘parents vs children’ race, or even better, attached all together for a thrilling descent all at the same time! The toboggan run is on a track and you’ll be flying over the jumps, round the bends and over obstacles. You’re in for a thrilling and exciting ride, in complete safety thanks to the tracks.

La Chevre..rie - Clément Marais et ces chèvres

The goat cheese dairy, for a taste of the mountains

The goats you can see from your balcony not only provide a change of scenery, they also produce rich milk that Clément then transforms into cheese that is full of flavour. Come and meet him and his animals, and he’ll tell you all about his profession, how he gets through the long winters in the mountains, deals with the mountainous terrain, and the issue of predators. But above-all, he’ll introduce you to the different flavours he achieves through a varied maturing process, and will pass on his passion for this profession.

Randonnée en raquettes

An evening hike in a subdued atmosphere

An evening snowshoeing hike in the moonlight… In the twilight hours, the light of the moon gives these landscapes an almost mystical appearance, and this is when you’ll be following Quentin into the forest. In the shade of the trees, you’ll be plunged into darkness and you’ll see why you needed to bring a head lamp. The moonlight streaming through the branches of the trees highlights the evening humidity. There are signs of life all around: animal footprints, lights from the surrounding villages, and a starry sky unlike any other you’ve seen before. You’ll remember this surreal atmosphere for a very long time…
