Once at the top of the Pic Blanc, 3330 m, the possibilities are dazzling. First of all, enjoy the Michelin 3-star rated panoramic view (which, if the weather gods are kind, will enable you to see one fifth of France), before setting off into the incredible mountain landscape.

About : Freerando from the Pic Blanc

This departure point is on Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine Ski :
Nestled in the Grandes Rousses, the site has an entrancing potential for inventing free-rando routes. With a north/south exposure and the cable-car accessible Pic Blanc at the top, the area offers a huge number of original compositions. Ski down the east-facing slopes to enjoy an untamed environment, the west-facing slopes to join up with the resorts of Vaujany, Oz-en-Oisans or Alpe d’Huez, or the glacial routes on the north side.

ROUTES FROM PIC BLANC :

- La Pyramide (3351 m)
Don’t put the skins on straight away as you first need to ski part way down the lovely Grand Sablat valley. Resist the temptation to carry on to the bottom and climb back up to the Col de la Pyramide (3351 m) to ski the lovely route of the same name.

- Pic Bayle > Le Grand Sauvage (3137 m)
(Up to the Col des Quirlies (3101 m) and the Cime du Grand Sauvage). This magnificent route is part of the famous Traversée des Grandes Rousses. This is a mighty route, with a short climb and a huge descent. Route back via the Col
de Sarenne.

- Pic Bayle > Côte Séverail (2959 m)
The east-facing slopes of the Grandes Rousses are full of free-rando opportunities. Côte Séverail is a superb run down to the Grand Sablat from the Col of the same name (3309 m).

- Pic Bayle > Couloir de la Fiole (3310 m)
For runs down the Ferrand Valley side (Clavans village), climb up to the Col de Sarenne (1999 m), between + 200 m and + 400 m depending on snow conditions and the chosen route.
