Some villages have chosen to develop their tourism in the older parts of the village. Accommodation, shops, services and leisure facilities are integrated into the original village, preserving its identity.
Charming traditional villages, such as Villard-Reculas and Villar d’Arène, have developed tourism that reflects their own personality. No excessive infrastructures or modern buildings, but rather architecture that blends in with the surroundings and tourism at a moderate level.
Vaujany and La Grave are larger village resorts, in terms of the range of accommodation and ski lifts available, but their charm remains intact.
