About : Individual tours of museum

This year the House of Alpages Besse-en-Oisans has a new look and invites you to discover its new space dedicated to pastoralism, through a playful and interactive exhibition with the theme of "pastoralism and natural environment: a challenge for the futur "

This exhibition "2.0" invites you to discover the pastoralism as it is practiced nowadays, chasing the received ideas by valuing a secular know-how.

Global warming, predation, shared space, and many other issues involve a constant adaptation of pastoralism. This exhibition will allow you to understand this vital activity for the economy of our mountains and the life of our villages.

During your visit you will discover:

The film "The Most Beautiful Country of the World" by Frédéric Fougea.

Many objects, photos, slideshows, recorded stories, everything is there to remind the difficult life of yesteryear. You will see the sheep, the shepherds; you will even hear the bells of the Tarine cows and the drone of the ram. You will also have an idea of pastoralism in other countries, as pastoralism and transhumance are widespread around the world.. Shop souvenirs / local products.

You will also have access to the exhibition floor.
